I have a problem with how Walgreens does sales tax. They tax on their suggested retail pricing instead of the actual sale amount. This let's them shave a few cents extra into their pockets as the form ST-1 makes the company pay sales tax on the sale price not the suggested retail (which is all over the board these days).

That's extremely illegal. Not that it matters much these days.

BJs club does the same thing and NY told me that was legal. What a bunch of crap. That is why I won't buy anything other then food there.

I highly doubt this. "Original " price could be set 1 million dollar if they wished. Sales tax is charged on actual "cash" that takes place, and transfers hands from buyer to seller. As a buyer you would be making a transaction of cash amount that's the sale price, not the original or suggested price given. Also, if you use their rewards as part of payment, it can not be used for calculating sales tax because rewards come out as discount given by the seller, hence, no transfer of actual money between hands. You must be reading it wrong.

I highly doubt this. Read my above post for explanation. You must be reading it wrong or there must be some kind of twist or exception. I need to see a proof of this to believe this. I just did the transaction and sales tax was on actual cash payment and my rewards/discount was also excluded from sales tax

Walgreens whey protein 2lb tubs are still on clearance for 4.99. Last week, they were b1g1 half. I scored two tubs totaling 4lbs for 7.49, and paid $5 with rewards that I had earned a day earlier from a wonderful transaction that somehow had earned me $13.xx in rewards.

Only caveat, they expire (or best before) in a year which explains why they are on clearance. For most users, that shouldn't matter.

The $3 off $4 coupon doesn't seem to work right for me or something....Total ends up around $13.70 after 90cents tax.

Not working in the app, but worked for me through the Walgreens website.
