My brother got one of these last week. Its no OLED by any means but I have been impressed with the quality for the price. Edit: I was wrong...it was the QM6K my brother got last week but again, I've been impressed for the price.

This or the qm6k pro from Costco for $120 more? This will be a secondary gaming / sports TV for my sunroom. Is there really that big a difference from 60 to 120hz?

For $120, I'd probably go with the QM6K Pro, or even the larger 65" QM5K for the same price (roughly 33% more screen real estate.) Most sports content is still 720-1080P 60hz. TCLs arent particularly noteworthy for upscaling or content smoothing so it'll depend on what you're comparing against. For gaming, it'll also depend on what youre playing and the settings. Most of the AAA games released in the last year for consoles (Death Stranding 2, Clair, Silent Hill, Mario Kart, etc etc) max out at 60 FPS. Shooters generally have 120 FPS modes but these are generally ancillary to the standard modes (4K/30/60) and have some tradeoff in fidelity.

Thx for the info. I did order the qm6k pro from Costco earlier today. For the difference in money and 5 year warranty, seems like a no brainer.

Like you can play a 4k Blu-ray on a 1080 tv, just because a standard supports more doesn't mean that the hardware supports all of the features.

Under most circumstances I would say the QM5K is better value, but if you're using it solely for gaming, go with the QM6K. You actually can get up to 280hz in gaming mode with the QM6K.

I ended up getting the qm6k pro from Costco, just opened and hung it up last night actually. I have to do the normal adjustments but so far, seems fantastic out of the box.
