Astroglide being a mainstream brand (and often the only thing sold in a box store), doesn't rely on providing a quality product. It's more watered down than better lubes - meaning it's messier and you'll use far more. It also will dry much more quickly than better lubes (that again are around the same price) - meaning you might need to stop and reapply or deal with a rough ride (love that for you if it's your thing though).
Also Astroglide is formulated in a way which works best for vaginal sex - and works more poorly for other purposes. Maybe it's just because I'm really good at sex but needing lube for vaginal sex is not that common a personal experience. (It does happen, even to those with a proper skillset, because people have different physiologies and response to sexual stimulation.)
There are lots more stories of allergies to Astroglide but tbh I would put that on the fact that it is like the default lube and thus more people are exposed to it to experience reactions.
Not applicable to this product but I'm already dropping knowledge: stay away from any lubes with scents or flavoring, and stick with water based as it is most compatible with both people and products. (Some things require non-water based lubes but will usually make that clear.)
Anyway, my summary: this is fine, but you could do better without spending much/any more. You deserve nice things.
Either way, stay thirsty my friends.

If allergic, Sliquid is popular.
If water-based is not preferred, there are too many choices to make blanket recommendations.

If you have a real honest-to-goodness we care about this stuff locally owned/operated store (probably only most common in cities) you will pay more but often that's to pay for the higher overhead of providing good service.
Again, all just IMO. I won't criticize people for buying exclusively on price. But I do know there are folks that try to support local shops so I figured it was worth mentioning.
