Assuming you mean with a 7730U? Hands down the AMD

  • 6 year old quad core processor WITHOUT RAM?
  • This CPU can peak in the 60W-80W range... Depending how this cooling works and how the TDP is limited, you can see vastly different performance than advertised.
  • The Front page GMK mini pc ($370) with the 7730U, 16gb RAM, and 512gb SSD is vastly superior to this barebones, even though it's processor is 4 years old...
Not a deal.

The descriptions are inaccurate for "barebones". No RAM, no storage, no OS. It's like that on the GMKTec website too.

Considering possibly running frigate.
I have 32 gigs of laptop DDR4 I'm trying to find something to do with.

As long as you have camera's that provide a "low res feed" in addition to the normal one you should be able to hangle a good amount of camera and the intel works well for that purpose as well. I've got an older intel n150 mini pc I'll be spinning up with proxmox strictly to handle gpu related tasks unless I crumble and buy THIS one.

No.Barebones is no ram and no SSD, or windows license.

Literally click the link and it says No RAM or SSD... OP fudged up copy/paste of specs... 🤦 ā™‚ļø

What would be your thoughts on using this one for Home Assistant OS? I want to setup it up to help monitor my Reolink cameras. Thanks

It should easily handle home assistant however I'd recommend installing proxmox (free) and runniing home assistant os in a container so it's not taking up the whole machine. Then frigate could be in another container. It also handles vm's but lxc containers are much lighter on resources and all of them can share the gpu where you can only allocate the gpu to 1 vm and then even the lxc containers can't use it. I have docker running in a container which eliminated the one vm I was using so I can run all the apps.

Awesome thanks for the details! I was thinking of leveraging proxmox for this.
