This Milwaukee 19 piece 1 half inch drive SAE impact socket set is drawing attention as a clearance buy for homeowners and anyone needing larger SAE sizes. The set is useful for plumbing and water heater work, and the socket size markings are easy to read. The case and cage locked checkout process came up repeatedly, and the price varies by store, with some locations still at $89 while others ring up at $55. The main hesitation is value, since cheaper deep impact sets exist and adapters can add bulk and reduce torque.
Shoppers who need a deep SAE socket set for occasional garage work, because the price can ring up at $55 and the set covers common impact sizes.
Homeowners doing plumbing repairs, because SAE sizes fit fixtures and the 1-1/16 socket can remove a water-heater anode rod.
Mechanics who want easy-to-read markings, because the socket sizes are simple to read at a glance.
Drivers using a big 1/2-inch impact gun, because the set includes larger SAE sizes up to 1-1/2 inches.
Shoppers expecting a smooth clearance checkout, because the set can be locked in a cage and require a manager to unlock and escort it.
People who need metric sockets too, because this set is SAE-only and a mixed SAE-metric kit may fit better.
Users relying on socket adapters for heavy torque, because adapters add bulk, rob torque, and can break.
Buyers who want a compact storage case, because the 1/2-inch socket case is bulky.

Look at all of the upvotes - those are probably from people who were able to replicate the deal...it's available for this price at my store.
It was locked up in the cage and the manager had to come unlock the cage and walk the merchandise to the cashier with me.
Also, does anyone know if in 2026 Home Depot no longer gives military discounts on clearance items? This is the 2nd clearance items I've bought that I didn't get the military discount. I always got the discount even on clearance items.
