This Milwaukee 19 piece 1 half inch drive SAE impact socket set is drawing attention as a clearance buy for homeowners and anyone needing larger SAE sizes. The set is useful for plumbing and water heater work, and the socket size markings are easy to read. The case and cage locked checkout process came up repeatedly, and the price varies by store, with some locations still at $89 while others ring up at $55. The main hesitation is value, since cheaper deep impact sets exist and adapters can add bulk and reduce torque.

Common Questions (5)

  • The Milwaukee set costs more than generic or Husky alternatives, but it offers the full 19-piece SAE range and easy-to-read socket sizes. Cheaper sets can cover only part of the range, so the value depends on whether you need the larger sockets and prefer the Milwaukee case and markings.

  • Yes. The set can ring up at $55 even when the in-store clearance tag still shows $89, and the lower price may only appear at checkout or online. Rechecking later can help because some stores drop from $89 to $55 after the tag has already been posted.

  • No. Pricing varies by location, with some stores showing $89 while nearby stores have it at $55. Checking other stores or rechecking your local store daily can uncover the lower clearance price.

  • Yes. Some stores keep it locked in a cage, and a manager may need to unlock it and walk it to checkout. That can also affect pickup flow because the item may not be freely accessible on the shelf.

  • It adds seven larger SAE sockets beyond the 12-piece set, covering 1-1/8 through 1-1/2 inches. That makes it useful if you already have the smaller sizes and need the bigger sockets for homeowner jobs like plumbing and water-heater anode rods.

What are you talking about? This Husky deep impact socket set, which is currently deeply on sale, is $35 and it's only 11pc and those 11pc's are the smaller half of this set

I have the 12pc, which is 3/8, through 1-1/16 so this kit is 7 extra pieces 1-1/8 through 1-1/2 .

How useful do you think those larger bits would be? So far I haven't needed anything that large
Then you will never need those larger sizes and buying this set will be a total waste of money. This isn't the place for rational decision making, though. If it will make you happy, buy it!

Last night I seen $89 clearance price but today after my purchase it's now clearanced to $55.00. Just got lucky I went today and not yesterday.
Did you go to the store it said 89 and rang up for $55? Or you waiting until it showed $55 online to buy?

The 43 piece for $99 is a better deal to me. SAE and metric.

In-store showed clearance tag at $89 but rang up $55.00. Only place to state $55 was online.

Found a store nearby listing it at $55- tempted to buy it even though I don't have a 1/2" wrench
If you dont have a 1/2" wrench, you will never need an inch and a half socket.

If you're a homeowner this is a good set to own. Plumbing fixtures use SAE. The 1 1/16 socket can be used for replacing annode rods in a water heater. You can always get a cheap 1/2 drive ratchet from Amazon and Harbor Freight as well.

The reason I went with Milwaukee impact sockets are the fact that I can easily read the sizes on the sockets. They're the jitterbug of impact sockets.

Damn, I've been eyeing this for weeks hoping it would drop below $89 and now it's at a price point I would happily bite at. I wonder if this could be Brickseek'd to find the deal.

I got the Quinn Master Socket set at Harbor Freight, which has the shallow and deep sockets. The case that stores all the 1/2" sockets is a fatty though. Wish the engineers had put more thought into slimming down the case.
