But I've watched countless you tube comparison videos and they all say it's CLOSE

I was going to replace a 77" oled with a 98qm8k in my bedroom. After 3 cancelled install/deliveries by Best Buy, and looking at the size differential a few times with painters tape, I determined the size upgrade was insufficient to further deal with Best Buy...or upgrade to 98" at all. I'll install an ultra short throw for a larger screen in due time.
Otoh, the 98" in a larger living room was a nice upgrade over an 80". Thus, to some degree, it is going to depend on the frame of reference (room + viewing distance) & your goals (something that's just more comfortable to view or are you looking to really fill the width of your vision).
Also, if you're going to be replacing an OLED, go with a 98qm8k. The superior contrast of the qm8k will be even more noticeable to you having switched from oled. I think the 98qm8k is currently (& frequently) on sale for $3,000.
