Good inexpensive enclosures, IMO.

Are you sure you're using a proper high speed data cable and not just one for charging / basic usb? That would explain the ~480MB/s max..
Just tested mine with with my MBP and a random TB4 cable and had no issues writing to it at 1GB/s.

You need a 10gbps usb cable, they're either called usb 4, or usb 3 gen 2, or usb 3.2... something like that. I like cable matters ones.

Edit: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matt...B06XMY49BM I have a few of these for high speed data purposes.

Good inexpensive enclosures, IMO.

Quote from Spaceman6969 :
Bought one 2 weeks ago and returned it because this enclosure requires the included usb c able to deliver the highest read and write speed.

Basically if gonna have other branded usb c cables (at home, spare, Apple, green, insignia, etc) connected to this enclosure, it would not deliver the expected read and write speed. 300-480 megabytes per seconds.

Maybe...just maybe I'm an outlier here as I got a faulty one but I doubt it as other reviewers had shared the same thing that I went thru

Bought the nvme+sata version of this four years ago. It's been great for daily use without issues.

Please share any designated usb c cable appropriately for this enclosure. I do want to rebuy this…not at a TB4 price point from Apple

The cable supplied with it is great. Although it is short at 8", I'm getting 1GB/s from the enclosure. I just can't figure out where I'm supposed to put the 2nd heat pad (says to use it for SSD drives. But doesn't say where)

I like that this is toolless. It'll make it easier to swap in NVMe drives from malfunctioning/dead laptops for data retrieval and backup.

High speed USB C data is VERY picky with cable quality, even at 10Gbps. Charge cables being junk for data is expected. Good cables easily cost more than this enclosure, its why they only ever include a rat tail with these things.

Is the order of preference for this type of enclosure Sabrent, Ugreen, then Urico?
