It's the same thing as the regular Anker 45W nano charger. Just added an extra wattage meter screen. Not worth the price bump

The upwards facing port is tempting, perfect for behind the couch. Tired of buying 90° angled USB C cords for my sons tablet

Screen adds quite a bit of weight and size over the older version, heads up
True, but for me, the appeal is the versatility of the plugs and the port orientation. Still not ready to pay thirty bucks for it.

At first I thought it was silly to have a screen on a charger like this but I ended up picking one up and it's actually really nice. Build quality is solid and I love the fact that the plug flips to the opposite side to allow the charging port to be angled differently Yeah I mean you don't really need the screen but it is nice to see what speed my devices are charging at and it looks kinda cool plugged into my kitchen island outlet. You aren't really paying a huge premium for the screen and the quality of the display is surprisingly good.

Cool idea. It is odd that charging rate isn't a standard feature on every phone and tablet. Crazy to add a screen to tell you how fast your device with a large screen is charging. Phones already have current sensor. I'd prefer screen on cable near the device than on the wall.

I have a USB device that you plug in between a charger and the device to be charged. It shows how much current is being drawn from the charger. I find this helpful. I have a portable workshop light that I use frequently. I noticed that when I'm charging it the indicator on the light shows full charge before it is actually fully charged. I charge it until the current drops to 0.

Good point. Hope there's a cheaper version without the screen in the future.

If anyone is interested in buying it directly from them, it's the same price there: https://www.anker.com/products/a1...ug-compact

I must resist... like most of us, I've got lots of power adapters. I'll get the next version of this which hopefully has 2 ports, and supports 50-65w.

I see a lot of chatter about the unnecessary screen, but wouldn't the real value in this charger also be from its 3-stage PD "Anker Care Mode" that supposedly extends an iPhone's battery life?

I am having trouble finding more technical details on how this mode actually works and how it differs from iPhone's own built in charge rate controls, but I appreciate any details folks here might have on this aspect.

Anybody have any reviews to add for this? I have dozens of 45w single port GaN chargers... But none of them have screens 😭
Seems like something else that will break, lol

Love Anker chargers! They must be trying all sort of new innovative designs, as this one is certainly unique. Not sure how fragile that screen can be though.

I bought one of these from Anker for the same price. Very solid and the display is bright and clear. I think it's worth $30
