  • The Giraffe Tools hose reel has a patented design certified any-lock mechanism that locks at any length, cover every corner of your garden. And specially-designed stop ball can protect hose when it retracts.
  • Auto Rewind System: The water hose reel will automatically retract back in if you give it a slight tug. The hose may be neatly rolled up without kinking thanks to the retractable and guide systems.
  • High-Grid Garden Hose: The hose reel is made to be long-lasting and leak-proof with all-weather flexible and abrasion-resistant hybrid hose. Both the 116 PSI pressure test and the 600 PSI bursting pressure test were successfully completed by the 100 foot, 1/2 inch retractable hose.
  • Easy to Assemble and Disassemble: Only the 180-degree rotation bracket and a few screws are needed to assemble the retractable hose reel on the wall. The reel may be quickly removed for storage using the quick-release system by simply lifting the handle.

I previously tried a 1/2-inch hose, and it was only 75 feet and not 100 feet away from the source like this one could be, and was very disappointed with the water pressure.
I'd recommend no less than a 5/8-inch hose, and 3/4 is preferable for many situations. I'm sure some folks would be perfectly happy with the performance of 1/2-inch hose, just not right for my use case.
I'd pass on this particular reel. I think there's a reason it's marked down while the 5/8x90 sister hose on the same product page is still full price.

I previously tried a 1/2-inch hose, and it was only 75 feet and not 100 feet away from the source like this one could be, and was very disappointed with the water pressure.
I'd recommend no less than a 5/8-inch hose, and 3/4 is preferable for many situations. I'm sure some folks would be perfectly happy with the performance of 1/2-inch hose, just not right for my use case.
I'd pass on this particular reel. I think there's a reason it's marked down while the 5/8x90 sister hose on the same product page is still full price.

I've had a couple of these fail and not retract. Great idea but do seem to have longevity problems.

Another thing for people to consider is what size piping is supplying their spigot. I have 1/2" pex ran to all of mine so I'm already restricted to 1/2". Anything larger wouldn't make a difference. I wish they would've put in 3/4" when the house was built.

I have the 5/8 version of this and I'd say I'll get one more season out of it (5 years total). The mechanical rewind system has been flawless, but the swivel hinge is sagging and likely to break. I'd love to replace the shell and swivel mount with metal.
