Lodge cast iron? Yeah its worth it. 15 bucks for the 8" pan? Not so much.

I think an 8" skillet has limited uses. Maybe a couple of fried eggs or a small cornbread. I think the silicone holder is jacking up the price here.

Sub 10$ would totally make it ideal

Have found the silicon handle holder is prone to burning due to the handle being very short meaning the handle holder is too close to the flame. At home we use the 8" skillet on our smallest burner and it isn't an issue, but our car-camping burners are larger so we have remember to only put the handle on half-way until we turn the burner off.
As for usage we only really use this size for eggs.

Definitely yes!!! Once you season them they are literally like non-stick, they conduct heat evenly and hold it for long too. They do have a little bit of occasional maintenance and specific way of cleaning etc.. but worth it!!!

Is this good for pan fry? Woke style cooking to generate smoky flavor? 11" is too big for my home burners and they cover up all the flame

This one is too small unless you're making the tiniest side dish. I mostly use my 8 inch for grilling the lone hamburger ,and one or two eggs..

They sell those silicone holders for like $6-7, so probably. Good deal if you actually want one, jacking up the price otherwise.

Same here. I ended up cutting all of them shorter but then they don't stay attached as well.

While I do like my Lodge I recently discovered carbon steel and if I had to do it all over again I would just get that. Ikea ones are great quality.
