This Metabo HPT palm nailer stands out as a compact helper for deck work, joist hangers, hurricane ties, nail plates, and other tight spots where a nail gun cannot fit. It drives loose nails, works with many nail types, and the swivel connection and cushioned grip add comfort during short jobs. The main limits are that it is not meant for thousands of nails, can feel taxing on the hands, and may struggle to fully drive some hardwood. A practical specialty tool with strong value at the right price.
The palm nailer helps drive nails in tight spaces where a nail gun cannot reach.
The swivel connection can improve handling while positioning the tool for nail plates.
The tool can use different nail types than nail guns, which helps for varied deck work.
Proper piston contact and light firm downward pressure can reduce bouncing and help prevent nail bending.
The tool can feel taxing on hand comfort when driving many nails in a session.
The nailer may not fully drive into some hardwood, which can require extra attention.
Some pricing views show a much higher total cost when shipping is added.
Palm nailers can be awkward for certain angles where a different tool or approach fits better.

Honestly can't remember how it was for vibrations, which is to say not the worst. This Metabo probably performs about the same but has a rubber grip; seems like a good deal.

The key with these is to make sure the hammer piston is in full contact with the nail head before you actuate the nailer. If there's any gap it will bounce a bit and potentially bend the nail. Just use lightly firm downward pressure on the tool.
