anyone have experience with one of these devices? I'm curious how many nails/hammer sessions before your hand goes numb from the vibrations.

I used the harbor freight one (banks) for a few jobs a couple years ago. Worked really good, except on some hardwood where it wouldn't quite fully drive.

Honestly can't remember how it was for vibrations, which is to say not the worst. This Metabo probably performs about the same but has a rubber grip; seems like a good deal.

I have a palm nailer and it's unlikely a non professional would have any issues with long term use. Of course if you're nailing thousands of nails you might but at that point just get a gun.

Palm nailers are awesome. I have a framing nail gun, but I still use the palm nailer when I only need to drive a few nails, or when nailing in tight places. The other advantage compared to nail guns is that you can use any type of nail, not ones specifically designed for nail guns.

I have a big Senco and a mini Husky. The mini one feels like vibrations, the big one just thumps -- probably no worse than a hammer.

I used this for doing a bunch of nail plates, made it a breeze. This is one of those tools you don't really appreciate until you've properly compared the before and after of using one.

These are great for use in areas where a nail gun can't get in. Uses just about any kind of nail, and they must be separate nails - not in sticks or coils.

The key with these is to make sure the hammer piston is in full contact with the nail head before you actuate the nailer. If there's any gap it will bounce a bit and potentially bend the nail. Just use lightly firm downward pressure on the tool.
