Hit or a miss on the presta valve. It doesn't work most of the times on presta with the adapter.

File some of the metal off the top of the adapter (schrader side) so that the center pin of the tire gauge pushes against the valve body of the presta valve. This technique also works with a schrader valve that does not allow air flow when connected to a hand/floor pump.

Modern digital gauges like the Etenwolf T300 with AA batteries are very accurate and long lasting. My samples were accurate to 0.1 psi in the critical 20-120 psi range. The T300 works best with +1.4VDC batteries (avoid rechargeable). Just read the actual pressure on the big LED screen.
