I'm deep in the makita lxt tool line and the reviews on this pin nailer look very, very mixed. What I gleaned is that it works fine for mdf and softwoods— very light duty trim work, but should be avoided for hardwoods and critical fine-woodworking applications. If you know your uses, it could be a good tool.
I can report similar from my Hitachi battery pin nailer. When the finish really counts, I dial it in with a pneumatic.

I've had three of these and they are trash. I'm a Makita guy but this pin nailer is flat out garbage. DO NOT BUY IT. Even with the correct pins, it jams like crazy and the last one just straight up fell apart on me. Again....these are trash. Don't waste your money.
