Counterpoint. Have had 2 of these installed for a few years now and they both work with no issues.

These things are junk. I bought this 2 pack and it worked for a few months and died. Figured it was a dud and I replaced it. Also failed in a few months. It fails in the ON state and it won't turn off no matter what you do.

I have Kasa ES20M smart motion sensing light switch and it works great. Haven't tried this model though.

I have this as well as their dimmer version and they've been working great for 4 years without issue.

I have one setup in the garage, with their motion sensor and associated hub (needed for sensors) to extend the detection range. Use their app to link them together via smart action.

I have various versions of these products. Motion sensor Dimmer, Motion sensor, regular switches, plugs. Out of these, other than one of the plugs that shows an issue with the relay. The rest of them work seamlessly. Not sure why the specific plug has relay issue or not sure if the location has some issue with the humidity that plays with the relay.
I only see that sometimes the motion detection gets triggered without any motion.

So far it works OK, but it's impossible to pair with home assistant (not a big deal since it has sensor) big deal is lack of option to set smart control to dusk or down options so you will have to change setting as day becomes longer

These don't have Matter support.
If you're not brand loyal and don't mind not having Matter, Hubspace undercuts this price, and I've been pretty satisfied with their performance.

Is there a setting in the app to have it always on for a set period?

I have a regular dumb motion sensor switch that lights up my garage which is great when coming and going.

It's a pain when it won't stay on the 2-3 times I'm doing an oil change in there though

I've had one of these installed for years, and it still works flawlessly. Sadly, it's probably the most consistently functioning "smart" device in my house.

Same, have them in pantry, closets and laundry rooms and they have worked absolutely flawlessly for a long time now

I've had pretty good luck with Kasa devices and agree. People also may need to upgrade f/w with some of these if they have not and maybe that would fix some of their issues!

I've had no issues with my installed switches. Works flawlessly for our walk in closets.

We too have the ES20M version in our kids' bathroom to help with ensuring the lights get turned off - works great with the smart schedule and how the lights can be turned on or off manually as well as auto-off if needed. Been using them daily for at least 3 years with no issues!
