gen 2 was 240 refurb on Black Friday. Unsure of the difference between the generations but I love mine, huge upgrade from my basic Roborock

The gen 2 has an extendable mop and almost twice the suction power (10,000 vs 5,300 on the gen 1). Plus, I believe it has better mapping and obstacle avoidance compared to the gen 1.

Looks like the gen1 has better obstacle avoidance due to more cameras/sensors. But the gen2 has the extendable mop and better suction, as you said.

Yup you're right. I just saw the comparison on the Dreame site. Gen 2 has the single-laser 3D structured light, while gen 1 has the AI RGB + dual-laser 3D structured light.

I have both gen-1 and gen-2 and there are pro/ cons of these.

1. Gen-1: Better obstacle avoidance. Larger on-board dust bin.
2. Gen-2: Larger fresh/ dirty water tanks, larger refillable cleaning solution bin, extendable mop. For some reason, gen-2 bin frequently fails to empty into the base station. I believe this is because of the shape of tunnel in the base station which prohibits any larger sized debris to block the mouth leading upto the vacuum bag.

In practical terms, I can't say that additional suction power really is perceivable.

I bought the Gen 2 on that black Friday deal and I really believe it was a great deal. My first real leap into these robot vacuums and I had my doubts for sure. It keeps up with 2 dogs and 3 kids in the main spaces of the house. Typically I don't have it do kids bedrooms but it'll do the rest of the house, mainly because Legos get stuck constantly lol. But this is a great robo vac. Only real complaint I have is like someone else mentioned, the dirt bin not emptying. Not a big deal tho I just check after it finishes. Black lab hair is typically the culprit.

Does the Dreame App let you change the empty frequency? I have the MOVA version and had the same issue after about 2-3m with my lab. I blew compressed air through the inside and a ton of hair came out. Went into the settings and turned up the dust collection to 'high frequency'. It's been about 5 months since with no issues.

The only option I see is to change it to every cleaning cycle which is where I have it. So I think it'll empty only once per cleaning and that's the most frequent you can get.

The apps look the same but could be slightly different. Mine is under settings, doc settings, auto empty. Then it lets me change to high frequency which is multiple times per task.

If I already have a mopping robot, is there another one ppl recommend for a vacuum only self emptying machine?
This deal makes it hard to beat, as even the Eufy L60 is more expensive.

I see for $127 the DREAME D10 Plus Gen 2. Good?

They suck. Sent wrong product (twice) and tried to bribe with a brush on ebay for positive review!

Good deal. Got one as an upgrade to a very old Xiaomi Mi vacuum. First vacuum they sent did not fill water from the station, which seems to be a pretty common problem. However they did send a replacement and it's been working great.

L40 ultra on sale too. $280 https://www.ebay.com/itm/35693040...SwC0xnIKd6
Pulled the trigger on one of these, I got a Roborock Q Revo refurb for $230 last week but figured this may be worth the extra $50. I will compare both and decide which one goes back.

Current S5 Roborocks I have are still going strong since 2019 so if I can get another 5-6 years out of it, that would be great or if they break before the 2 year warranty is up, that's fine too lol
