Wera is a great brand. Quality tools with good no-frills support/replacements. I don't have this ratchet, but many others in their brand line. Would recommend.

Great quality tool, I own one. Like ratchet action, but it's small and I have big hands. Good for tight quarters

I have the Tool Check Plus and this ratchet is part of the kit. The kit is awesome but the ratchet is the perfect size for the work that I do which can be in some tight spaces where a normal sized ratchet will not work or isn't efficient. I've been using this along with the kit for five years now and it's still going strong. Wera may be an expensive brand but their build quality is top notch.

I don't know if it's cause of the tariffs or inflation but the price of the tool check plus has ballooned too much. It was around $80 just a few months ago.

I have a few of the Zyklop speeds and some of these minis though not the 1/4 in either so in for 1.

All of them have been absolutely abused and still work flawlessly. Some of them are 10+ years old and besides being dirty work as well as they did new.

Great little ratchet (I own one bought years ago for much less), but IMO in no way is this worth $51 or even $32. It's cute and small, but it's not like anyone is going to be heavily torquing down on something like this so I'm sure a cheap, knock-off would serve just as well. Or if low profile is what you're after, this would be better for half the price:

I bought mine in early '21 for $68 and its done nothing but go up in price. Wish I would've bought the metric version around that time as well.

The # of teeth on the ratchet mechanism can be a BIG DEAL in certain applications. That VESSEL ratchet looks to have a "coarse" tooth wheel, which results in way more radial movement of the handle needed to get to the next position where you can apply force to it.

Sounds minor, but when you've got the ratchet handle in a confined space you'll quickly understand why more teeth are better.

What's the use case for the metric version of a 1/4" drive?

The use case for me would be that I'd be able to use metric sockets with the 1/4" ratchet along with the metric hex bits. Where I work it seems they can't decide to use to use imperial or metric so we use both.

Wera is nice and all, but you can get something like a Wiha mini ratchet with a bit set for $28 (and occasionally cheaper).
Without going into if the Wera is really that much better than the Wiha, it still feels like for $32 we'd be paying more for less.

PS. The Wiha ratchet actually claims to have a 72 tooth gear, compared to the more expensive Wera's 60.
