If you're buying a space heater or a hair dryer be sure to get a ceramic model. Korean research shows that the models with only thin resistor wires emit a lot of fine metal particles into the air that can become deeply embedded in the lungs. My sister was skeptical until the censor on her air purifier showed over 150 parts per million while using her hairdryer in a small bathroom.
