Rustler sounds like a lot of fun actually

>Become a medieval thug in a crazy open-world action game, full of pop-culture references. Complete insane quests, kill heroes, steal horses, fight guards, rob peasants, listen to some bard music, and much more! All packed in old-school gameplay style!

I have the physical version of this game for switch and it's quite solid and fun.

I have to give Epic their due. Sometimes they give away top tier, very popular games. Not entirely all that often, but it does happen from time to time.

It was pretty common to have popular ones in the very early days when they were trying to get people's attention.

Now it's about 2 per year (Hogwarts and Disco Elysium this year).

That sounds right. You obviously pay closer attention than I do. But... I'm fine with their track record... I've never given them a penny and they don't owe me a thing. Throwing me a free game or two every week is all right in my book. ๐Ÿ™‚

Most of the games Epic gives away are very highly rated for their genres. Some people just confuse "good games" with AAA games. As a counterpoint, perhaps someone can provide a list of games that Valve/Steam has given away in 2025?

AI says
"The Deed: Dynasty, Rat Quest, Undercroft Warriors. Steam users could claim 8 new free indie games in late December 2025. "
Not much, and several were promotions by the developers that Steam "allowed" on their platform.

That's what I was getting at. Steam/Valve themselves almost never give out any free games the way Epic does on a weekly basis. Of course that excludes individuals who choose to give away their own product for free, which I think is most/all of what ai was mentioning there.

Now Amazon on the other hand has given away quite a lot of good games in recent years. If anyone isn't aware, if you have Amazon Prime, you can get weekly free games at gaming.amazon.com as well.
