This seems really overpriced. You can get similar(or better) ports on USB hubs that cost less than half as much as this one, even from the same brand.

For example, you can get the UGREEN 12 in 1 Triple 4K Docking Station for $46, and that supports up to 3 monitors.

I suppose you might need to spend extra on something like this if you're stuck using a Macbook that doesn't support DisplayPort MST, so you need an external GPU to connect multiple displays to one USB-C port. But for any Windows or Linux laptop made in the last decade with USB-C video output, there's no point to this dock; it costs more and the external USB GPU (DisplayLink) adds lag to the video output.

What about for those with Mac mini? Different result correct?

Same limitation. They don't support DP MST. So, you can only connect one display per USB port, unless you get a hub like this one that includes a USB GPU (DisplayLink) in it, or a hub that offers downstream TB port(s).

It's not as big of a deal for a mini, since you can hide multiple display adapter hubs behind the box. It's annoying to have to run multiple hubs or adapters out of the sides of your laptop.

Oddly enough, the old Intel based MacBooks do support DP MST, so that's a feature Apple decided not to include when making their own chips.
