Can we get basic info in the OPs again:

measures 5 factors of air quality:
particulate matter (PM 2.5),
volatile organic compounds (VOCs),
carbon monoxide (CO),
humidity, and
temperature.

90 day warranty

my understanding is this requires Alexa use- either Echos or app. no on device notification/display.

pretty good price for the sensors included and probably more reputable than the no names.

I have this unit and correct, you monitor via the Alexa app. Aside from the basic info, unfortunately they haven't made any development. I wish you can set alerts or trigger other automation based on settings, but nope. I do assume due to being backed by Amazon in house that it is accurate and good quality hardware.

Interesting
Product details explicitly mention that you can set up routines.
Maybe outdated product info?

"Enable Routines - With Routines, you can link Alexa-enabled devices so that they work together. For example, if Alexa detects a change in indoor air quality score, you can enable a Routine to activate compatible devices like air purifiers, dehumidifiers and fans to improve your indoor air quality."

It's half the cost of a new one on Amazon, but a 90 day warranty on a refurb? I'd like to try one, but the brand new ones have a 1 year warranty. Is it worth saving $35 on a product that already needed fixing? Manufacturer refurbs should come with at least the full warranty as new.

You can setup alerts and do automation.

I think it was in the Alexa app after you add the device. I made a simple announcement for high CO2 but nothing else. Could probably control fans or humidity devices also.

Being an Alexa device I doubt it's as accurate as other options but it seems to work for me so far.

I checked, it's in routines on the app.

So it doesn't detect flatulence? That's the main threat in this house. Pass.

I take it back, I realized it's been a while since I even fired up my Alexa app since everything is working well and looks like it's updated. I don't think when it first came out it even had co2 readings. I got it around early COVID days and wanted to see if I can see a difference in readings if one of the household members was positive and confined to the bedroom as well as the difference w/ air purifier or not.

I have used mine for a few years now, set up a fresh air intake fan that gets triggered in my boiler room if it reaches a certain temperature. Also warns me of co levels. No issues with it yet.

I used this to trigger a non-smart humidifier to turn on or off based on humidity levels.

My air filter (some Winix filter) has a sensor and an auto mode. I farted on it once on purpose and sensor went yellow and it kicked it into turbo-mode. I'm immature but it was hilarious

Don't see anything wrong here. You got to test critical life support systems regularly

I have one and it triggers alerts about air quality sometimes when I am cooking :-) two rooms away. I am going to grab another for another house. Don't know why, just the typical Slickdeals affliction I guess.

Clearly that's covered under VOCs

It is a great sensor for home automation in which something turns off or on when a certain threshold is met. Obvious examples are for turning a dumb humidifier or air purifier or heater into a smart one with a smart plug and this device.

The ugly: it is horrible for data nerds who want to be able to look at long term trends or even export. The weekly/monthly aggregation displays peaks, not averages! So when you look at 12 month trend, it shows you the peak temp/voc/co/etc for that month instead of average. Also, the data display is terrible UX because it buries data deep in the Alexa app.
