I'm sure this is a perfectly good bidet, but having gone from this style to the tankless types I can never go back. Besides looking nicer, it's so much more comfortable. You can hardly tell the difference between it and a standard toilet seat.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're talking about a purpose built bidet toilet vs a bidet add on?
If you are, that's literally comparing apples to oranges...

If you look at the profile/side shot, you can see where it ramps up quite a bit. Inside that is a water tank and machinery.

There are other ones that don't have a tank and are much lower in the back. They do have instant on hot water, just like the tankless water heaters out there. One side effect is you can have endless warm water, if you need a really good, long wash... they're also not consuming electricity to keep the water warm.
