The 7500x3d combo is night a day compared to your present setup.
If you can add another 16gb for a total of 32gb ddr5, that would be great.

Same here. I actually started buying PC parts this past summer around the beginning of June and during Prime week, I got lucky and found a seller on eBay who I purchased a 48GB DDR5 CL30 dual RAM kit from for $150 and now that same kit is selling for upwards of $500 which I did a deep dive on in a video [youtu.be] on my YouTube channel. I plan on building the PC I bought parts for before the end of this month...

Would this be a good deal for me? I have an old i7-3770k 3.5Ghz, 16Gb DDR3. I mainly use for office applications and some video processing. I'm looking to do some photo restorations with some software like Topaz. Would this bundle be faster? Should I consider intel? I have a microcenter here in Houston but this bundle is currently out of stock. TIA

Appreciate the info. Boy I wish I'd stocked up on memory a year ago (I know I'm preaching to the choir). An extra 16Gb memory is $200 plus. So that puts me into the next level of bundles at Microcenter, where I really get confused. AMD and Intel builds from $500 to $650 range. That's where I really get confused. LOL

Bad time cost effective wise to build a pc now. Ride it out til prices subside.
Memory I bought this summer for $110 is now $439. Ridiculous.

I would wait for Intel bundles since your not gaming for AMD or X3D

use passmarks website to compare benchmark scores for cpus. if theres a huge difference then there you go. im guessing your heavier tasks are multithreaded. if so look at those scores in particular

Wow, that's crazy. I'm not sure we're going to see prices go down anytime soon. The hyperscalers are going to continue to spend the next few years and the companies can't keep up with demand. They are also more coordinated, not competing with each other. I think we most likely see these prices double in the next year. Crazy times.

This matches the old Microcenter bundles for a 7600x, motherboard, and single stick of RAM, albeit this processor would be better in gaming thanks to the x3d cache. The next kit up to solve the single channel RAM problem would be the 7700x kit, for $250 more, for the 7800x3d kit for another $350.

The extra memory for dual channel capability would be nice, but it'll already be such a step up that I don't think you should feel forced to grab more memory right now. I have a 7600x3d and 2 x 16GB. I rarely see my system use more than 16GB of memory. While I don't know how important dual channel is, and how much performance would be left on the table, it seems to me the biggest boost in performance would be jumping onto an AM5 platform with a modern cpu. If you can stretch your budget to $649 then I think the best value for unnecessary performance upgrades is the 7800x3d 32GB bundle (9800x3d will be higher end for another $100), but that's more than double the cost for not a ton of increases in performance. It'll be up to you how much value that brings you, especially if it's for entertainment.

TLDR:
$300 gets you a huge leap up to AM5 (AMD's current platform), a 6core processor with the x3d cache (great for gaming), and 16GB of DDR5. If you need a new setup or are CPU limited right now this value will be very hard to beat.

To tag onto my earlier comment, here's an article about single vs dual channel memory performance for games:

Get two bundles, somehow, then sell one CPU/MB combo for $300 and you'll have another 16GB stick for free, for a total of 32GB.
