Best Buy was selling refurbished VR 2 headsets for $150 just a couple days ago. This is a terrible deal because Sony isn't showing any love for their PSVR2. Their last few Days of Play events have been pretty void of VR content. On top of that it doesn't work for PSVR1 games you are pretty much buying it as a Horizon, No Man's Sky, and Resident Evil playing machine.
I really wanted VR to do well but this ain't happening.

I'm currently using a PSVR2 for PC. Got it on ebay for $180 but it was really more like $160. I got a partial refund because one of the controllers did not work which meant the whole thing was unusable. Had to send it in to Sony for repairs. I like it and think it's pretty good for an intro into VR.
It does have some drawbacks. Most games don't have native keybindings for the controller so I find myself having to remap controllers in a lot of games. Another thing is you want to make sure you have a good Bluetooth adapter or you'll face some intermittent tracking issues. One last downside is that it is wired and hardwired at that, so should your usb cable ever get damaged the whole system would stop working. Some good things though is that games look great on it. It's also really comfortable with this cluster mod I got for it, which was pretty cheap. I haven't had any neck pains or strains while using it.

Overall, I like it but I do believe I am going to get a Steam Frame as I think it'll fix all of the issues I currently have with the PSVR2. I think the Steam Frame will be priced well enough for me.

PSVR1 had around 500 games, 23 got free updates to PSVR2.
When they make YouTube videos in 10 years about why the PS VR2 flopped this is probably going to be reason number one

For the price, is this a good VR set to get to use on a PC? I mostly want it for flight games and maybe watching movies/TV on a huge virtual screen.
you'd be much better off with a quest 3s or steam frame when they release. Being locked into sony's walled garden sucks. features are disabled on the sony headset that are available everywhere else when vr gaming on pc
personally I'd look elsewhere.
buying into that ecosystem is a massive dead end. They barely support it and it doesn't have full support elsewhere like steam and other places like other headsets do.

sony loves to nickel and dime you for every shekel they can get.
it's why I quit them and sold all my sony stuff. waste of time and a dead end if you want to game anyplace else and have your progress follow you.

Not out of the box. You need a camera adapter. Then you can only play the PS4 PSVR1 games. It's really not worth it. PSVR2 is so much better and you can use it with PC, though that also takes an adapter. Some people complain about features not working on PC, but honestly, the OLEDs look amazing on PC and I don't care much about the missing PC features, it looks incredible.

Thanks for your experience.

Question and I think it is obvious but I am going to ask anyway....PSVR games are NOT playable via a PC when using the PSVR2 on the PC? For example, if I bought this set, I couldn't play Horizon: Call of the Mountain on my PC. I assume the titles are not 'cross platform' and still must be played using Sony hardware.

Yeah games purchased for the PlayStation will only be playable there.

Perfect example of the Amazon shuffle. With this terrific price from a major vendor, Amazon suddenly pulls their buy option so they don't have to match the price.

Makes sense, that is what I figured but thought it worth the ask! Thanks!

Not having backwards compatibility was a pretty bonkers decision, did the PSVR1 have some key feature the 2 didn't have? I tried the psvr1 and I really disliked it, most of all having to set up the sensors. You couldn't just put on the headset and go. I tried the psvr2 and it was a nice gimmick but not worth the price of a PS5.
