This is one where the lower tier is very convincing. With those two you can use the OpenRCT project to make the game wonderfully modern including multiplayer.

Is that better than buying all these other versions? I still have an old copy of rct2 from like 25 years ago and didn't know there was an open source version that was still being updated

If you still have RCT2 you just install that, and when you're installing openRCT you point it to your game files. It's for sure the best way to play.

you can find the first two for download online rather easily (dubious legality but both games with all expansions aren't even 100 megabytes i believe). RC3 is the only value in this bundle. be forewarned.

if you have apple arcade you can play a souped up version of RC1 for free right now on your iphone / ipad

Steam has RCT2 on sale for $2.49. Just buy that and install OpenRCT. The other RCT games aren't bad, but 2 is the best and most people don't need 5 different RCT games
edit: I take that back. RCT World is pretty bad

This really isn't a deal. All of these go on sale for $2 (currently are), and RCT World is a poorly made cash grab (mostly negative on Steam - 26%). Planet Coaster is the de facto modern RCT game.

Yeah, I was going to say, the tier 1 games are more than enough. tier 2 is not worth it

I play Parkitect and that definitely feels like a modern version of RCT. I would recommend it

True forget about Parkitect. Parkitect is basically the isometric successor to RCT 1 and 2, and Planet Coaster is the 3D successor, sort of like what should have been RCT 4 or RCT World if it wasn't bad. Parkitect and Planet Coaster also have a ton of stuff on the Steam Workshop, but Planet Coaster can really slow down if you add too much stuff.
