If you are considering this, please be aware that there was a period of time when there was a huge rash of LOQ laptop motherboards failing. I'm not sure if or when they got that problem resolved, but do your due diligence to make sure this particular model isn't affected by that.

Seem to be mostly Intel boards and people mostly complaining were from India. I suspect maybe faulty firmware/hw along with high ambient temps and long game play.

Looking for something for one of my clients who basically just does email and Internet and remedial stuff This seems like a great Place but the graphic card is overkill but I'm wondering if I should get this for them anyways... Honestly I'd rather have an on board graphics card for them and have more memory or an nvme.

Looking for a laptop or mini pc to connect to a monitor for gaming, assuming 60Hz HDMI is not going to give me a great experience (but I don't know anything about these things)!!???

For those that care, the CPU is Zen4, NOT Zen5. https://www.amd.com/en/products/p...5-220.html

After an evening of research I can only conclude that the i5 is a better unit even tho its been out 3yrs+, as much of a AMD ride or die that I am running off my 4700U from back in 2020😭, the 10Cores/16Threads of the i5 beats the 6C/12T of the R5 220, if it was a 7 it would be no contest, but the L2&L3 combo are doing the heavy efficiency lifting to match the i5's 20mbL3 vs the 6mbL2&16mbL3 on the newer 220, the other comment is right about power savings but at the cost of spec performance from the i5, considering this Ryzen5 is just over a year old it can run faster ram but who can get their hands on some now days anyways especially the better stuff that defeats the purpose of getting mid-low range model like this, lastly the Ryzen5 has a significantly better integratedGPU as expected but not something you really need to worry about with the RTX5050, best take based on usage is if you plan on using the unit like a laptop for and will be on the go, you'll want the better battery with the Ry5 where as if you intend on using the unit as a gaming desktop setup then the i5 is best as it would be power connected most the time anyways.

Apparently this unit has 25ms response time that can result in ghosting. Buyer beware. I think Acer Nitro V 5050 from Walmart is much lower at 3ms but the reviews are mixed for that unit. I think the Acer Nitros have difficulty holding a charge when doing higher end gaming

This is not an open box like the one from Best Buy. So it should be a better deal. Right?

Its brand new straight from Lenovo and if you enrol in their rewards program (free), you get free expedited shipping. Best deal right now for a gaming laptop. Not the "BEST" or "FASTEST" but a slick deal for a very capable laptop, gaming or not.
