the answer is not more ram, but rather less tab hoarding.

Ridiculous that they only put 16 GB in this.

$300 more than other Lenovo deal. The only difference is the GPU (same vram). Price compare to that deal

16GB is plenty for 90% of the population. The other 10% that is video editing and 3D modeling won't be in the market for this particular model.
I often have upwards of 100 Chrome tabs open. My 16 GB laptop does not like this. My 32 GB laptop has no problem with it. The specs are too good on this machine for them to have cheaped out on the RAM.

That puts you in the market for a different laptop. Wild that you need 100 tabs open. Not arguing that 32GB should be standard, but it isn't as necessary as it is made out to be to the majority of users.

Ideally a 12GB VRAM like the 5070ti should have been standard on these mobile cards starting with the 5060 and up imo. The memory upgrade for this laptop to 32GB should run about $150 in the current economy, while a 5070ti upgrade runs about $400 for the next model up. Quick research shows it has 2 slots and the 16gb should be a single stick.

The 5060 deal might be the better choice for many as its $300 cheaper, has a 8gb 5060, 16gb like this one but only a 512gb nvme.

I picked this up, 16gb should be plenty for my uses. I Also tab hoard but have never run out of RAM in my 16gb Asus 2060MaxQ Asus Zephyrus G14.

Hoping that this will let me game well before the prices start rocketing up before the AI Boom maxes and crashes hard.

I bought this laptop back in October for around the same price. Great so far, screen is gorgeous, runs any game I throw at it.

Now take note I say "October", so after purchasing the laptop I bought another 16gb stick of ram and 1tb SSD for $50 each, lol. You won't ever see those prices again so just be careful. If the site has some upgrade options I would shell out for the 32. You'll have severe buyers remorse otherwise.

That is really dumb. You can't even see what any of them are. You have a real problem.

Even though cost has gone up, it is way over hyped at this point in time. $178 to make it 32GB with an extra stick. Is it more than last year? Yes it is about double already. But not enough to cause "buyers remorse" if you are already spending $1259 on a laptop.

The idea that you could have had more when you settled for less will always haunt you, lol.

But seriously I believe there was a deal for another Lenovo, same specs, 5060 with 32gb of ram for around $900. The 5060 and 5070 mobile GPUs bench very similarly, and they both have the same vram as well. Might be better to look into that.

It's a fully upgradeable gaming laptop. I'm less upset about default ram configurations in a laptop where the ram isn't soldered. Like sure would always rather have more for the same price, but this uses a single 16 GB stick, and it's super easy to work on, so pop 8 screws, add a stick and go.

Also has room for a second NVME.
