Hmmmm 1kW sounds low-power. I'd think they'd at least do 1800W like hair dryers are limited to.

It appears about 1300w is the max for name brand standard single burners. Probably safety reasons and worried you'll trip the breaker and think it's a bad product.
Induction models like Nuwave can go 1500w or higher.

do NOT recommend. I have a double burner (same design) from the same brand. Liquids always go inside and start some sort of a fusion (melting) with a lot of burned isolation odor. ...Waiting up until it short-circuits so that I can get a new one via the warranty...

i have an identical looking one i paid similar money for a couple months ago. it's got us through a kitchen remodel and was worth the <$20 we paid. boiling a big pot of water is a struggle, but is theoretically doable. smaller amounts of liquid/skillets worked fine. glad we had access to it in a pinch, but we'll be glad to have a regular stovetop back.

The warranty is already there... If I don't get a replacement it's equivalent to throwing money away. Would gladly take a refund if that was possible...

I'd recommend looking for at least 1200W. I have a 1200W single burner unit and bought a 1000W single burner and it was underpowered to a point where it could barely get a pot to a boil so ended up returning it.

If you're attempting to use this alongside trying to boil water, I think an electric tea kettle it's for you. You could at least have the water pre-boiled and pour it on top of this hot eye if nothing else.

Why are you pouring liquids onto the thing?
