Everyone should have one of these.

The button on your GFCIs will always trip the mech, but the external testers will ferret out the faulty ones.

I have a couple cheap ones, but tempted to get the Fluke to give me more credibility.

Is beeper important to testing and worth paying double for it?

I looked it up and a beeper is useful, but not required. It however allows one person operation. Not sure what that really means, but if true, then it's a no go.

Previous posts have said the beeper was too quiet to be of much use. The theory is you plug this in and flip the circuit breaker, and the beep tells you which breaker it is. You can do the same thing with an old radio that plugs in, or a lamp if you have line of sight to the room. The beeper is so you don't have to run back and forth to the breaker box, so it is a convenience, not a necessity.

Thanks and repped! I've watched a video and you can't hear the beep outside the room, which somewhat defeats the purpose.
