Lowe's is finally kicking out some decent deals. This is the upgrade to the DCD805B. This has the anti-kickback safety feature. Nice find, Rokket.

Watch some YouTube reviews, it's not an upgrade. I had one and sold it, went back to my 805. The anti kickback is junk and a nuisance. I am heavily vested in Dewalt and love them, but this is one tool I'm happy not to own. Dewalt failure.

Why is 805 better?

Same as 806, minus the anti kickback. Watch YouTube videos, the anti kickback is a joke.

It's a joke until you inadvertently sprain your wrist... If I recall, the YouTube video you're referencing demonstrate how the 806 is marginally underpowered compared to the 805. In real life, practical applications this difference will be undetectable, and both will get the job done. While the 806 will provide you the anti-rotation (not kickback) protection. Worth it in my opinion.

For whatever it's worth, I once accidentally sprained my wrist using the dcd795. (Forgetting to switch to gear 1 when used a large spade bit) This was a A 10yr old drill that's substantially underpowered compared to the 805 or 806, but also got the job done.

So take that for whatever it's worth.
