This backpack is great for travel, I keep buying them for my family when we go on cruises or trips. They do not take up much room in suitcase, etc.

The shoulder straps are the weakest part of this backpack and mine separated after the warranty period.
Besides completely failing, it was pretty good. I'm going to look at other brands

Traveled with this for many years. Still holding up well.

Honestly, never used the self-packing feature like I thought I would. Easier, quicker, and more space-efficient just to stuff it into empty crevasses as is.

Great deal if you want something light and takes little space.

Any other brands? I use mine a lot and though really convenient, rip stop my ass.

Am still using the older "model" of this EB packable stowaway backpack after 10+ years of travel. It's still green, well worn, doesn't have much body (obviously) but proved itself essential many times. Probably pick this one up!

I like these if you're packing a little bit. If packing a day trip for family (i.e. water for the day for multiple people), I would prefer something with more support

I'd like to upgrade to this 20L from a 14L. Also, this Eddie Bauer pack has side pockets, which I like for easily swapping gear or bottles.

We use an Osprey packable bag. Handled a month long trip to the UK carrying stuff when we didn't want to use our main packs. The biggest downside is the straps are actually less supportive than the EB but the material is more rip-stop like.

I use this as a packing cube. Fills half of a 20in carry on

I have these in the 20L and 30L versions. Both are great and have held up well throughout the years. The 30L is perfect with the outside front pocket for wet stuff or quick access like baby wipes. I sometimes use that clip to old a baseball cap too.

The side pockets are useless. They can hold small snacks like trail mix. They definitely won't hold any bottles.

I pack one of these in my carryon. When I have to gate check my carryon, I can throw my laptop and a couple of other items in the backpack to take on the plane. Life saver in these moments. With no structure these bags are not for daily use or heavy loads. But for occasional use, packability, these are great.
