From what I can gather, it appears Thermalright's coolers are the new Cooler Master Hyper 212s just to boil it down for simplicity's sake. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thermalright invented the modern day air cooler that the Coolermaster 212's and many others are based on. It was the Thermalright Ultra 120 that started it all a few decades ago.

Seems good for a budget dual tower cooler. Probably not a lot worse than pa 120. Something like 7500x3d or 7600x3d would be good fit

While I totally understand the aesthetics appeal of water coolers, I personally think that air cooling is superior in almost every other way. There are just too many potential drawbacks with liquid cooling, including risk of leaks (thus potentially damaging your PC), pump failure, pump noise, and extra adjustments needed (i.e. pump speed) which requires tinkering.

Air coolers hardly fail, almost match liquid performance, require very little maintenance and adjustments (just setting fan speed), and if they do fail, you can immediately see the fan not spinning whereas a liquid cooler pump failure may go unnoticed. Replacement is a snap too, takes maybe 5 minutes tops to switch to a new fan. Aesthetics is subjective but I actually kinda like the look of an air cooler tower.

With that said, there are certainly use cases where liquid cooling can be the right choice over an air cooler (ITX build with limited clearance, etc) but 95% of the time I think air cooling wins.

These $20 6-pipe air coolers can perform as good as 240mm water coolers and at par with some of the 360mm water coolers. And they don't clog up or fail like water coolers. And they're a lot cheaper.

These work just as good as liquid coolers IF you have great thermal paste and proper airflow. I've built 100's of gaming PCs doing stress test between both styles. Great budget option. Extremely similar to Coolermaster 212's
As for peerless comments, the above is more important and will provide better cooling, than just worrying about the type or brand of cooler you buy(non-liquid cooled). Most people ruin airflow in their cases which causes shorter component lifecycles and overheating.
I've revived many pc's with just a proper dusting, redoing thermals, and fixing airflow.

I still have an SLK-900 around here somewhere. I feel like I ought to turn it into a display piece.

Thanks for the clarification. So, I did some quick research online to see if I could get a look at the Ultra 120 cooler you had referenced and thank God for Newegg because they were the only website that carried an image: Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Heatsink [newegg.com]
That cooler sort of reminded me of this CPU cooler I once purchased over 16 years ago: Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B CPU Cooler [newegg.com]

I also prefer the aesthetic of air coolers. Never been a fan of all the empty space an AIO leaves and much prefer a chunky ass air cooler even with a 65w cpu lol. Thank god Thermalright's coolers are both very good and cheap enough that I can do this.

If these are a true 155mm height, they should work in the Cooler Master NR200 with the perforated panel. That's awesome.
I think I might snag one of these at this price just to have in case my 240mm AIO bites the dust.

noice.. im in the market for a new cooler and im not looking to tweak and the price is right.. but i got stuck with teamgroup's DDR5s aka the burj khalifa of RGB sticks from another slickdeal.. heres hoping the thinner front fans would do the trick.

Whhhhoooaaa I completely forgot about the Megahalems, been a long time since I've seen that name. Those were the days when I was ultimately stuck between buying the Thermalright Silver Arrow and Noctua NH-D14. Those were $100 coolers back then, now we're at the point were you can get something comparable (Peerless Assassin) for like $35, it's crazy. Hell the modern Noctua halo air cooler is still pretty damn expensive...

IMO big twin-tower air coolers give me kind of a muscle car, cafe or chopper bike vibe with the heat pipes and massive visible radiator fins. Having a big fark Noctua in the case used to be a flex before ARGB and ADHD light shows became all the rage.

After purchasing my Noctua NH-U14S back in 2014, I said never again due to how expensive they've become all because of brand recognition. Since then, I've purchased myself both the be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 and Dark Rock Pro 5, a DeepCool GAMMAXX AG400 (before they got banned), and a few (4x) Cooler Master Hyper 212 Blacks as they went on sale over the years. I actually bought the Megahalems cooler as a recommendation from a member in the EVGA forums back in the day of all places and I didn't have a clue if it sucked or not, but it was at a time when there wasn't as many dumb a$$ people chattering on the internet as there are now, lol.

i dislike the TR's with two different fans 🫢
i guess if you RGB ram, the offset is nice.

i noticed a 130mm is mixed with a 120mm,
so many TR variations you have to pay
close attention to what they are selling you.
