FWIW, not defending the amount of ram in the base config, just the deadhorse soldered complaint
FWIW, not defending the amount of ram in the base config, just the deadhorse soldered complaint
FWIW, I didn't say you are personally beating this dead horse...just one of the crowd who endlessly complains about this fact of life. Such a fact of life it isn't a downside nor even informational to mention as it is the only option. Unless you can point to similar $400 laptop that doesn't have soldered ram.... that would be truly informational. Otherwise, lets just admit that water is wet, the T-rex is dead, and a $400 laptop is going to have soldered ram. And all of that goes without saying.

2) If you weren't "complaining," then you were needlessly stating the obvious, that again, has no other alternative at this price point.
3) what is a "showstopper" or "very mediocre" if not a complaint? Really?
4) And no, "giant" laptop or not, $400 laptops, even mega super big nacho bell grande 17.3" models do not normally have free ram slots (nor unsodered ram) unless we are talking about OLD models or mobile work stations generally costing $1000....as a starting point.
Regardless, thanks for pointing out water
P.S. Feel free to post a similar NEW $400 laptop that has modern CPU, unsoldered ram (or free ram slots). That would be truly "informative." Anything else just feels like a very mediocre complaint.

Regardless, unless you have some insight into my brain, you've no idea what I meant. I said soldered to make a point that the 8GB was "forever memory", not complaining about it, and that an 8GB configuration in a Windows 11 laptop was a showstopper as it should be for most.
You asked, so here is a Dell 15" laptop with the same CPU for $466 that uses SODIMM (from the Outlet, but the fact is, SODIMM does exist in this class laptop).

LOL...best part is, your solution to your showstopper narrative of 8GB nonremovable ram on DDR5 is find a used DDR4 laptop (notice you didn't find a similar DDR5 machine????) with the same amount of SLOWER ram yet still costs more? So no, it isn't the same "class" of laptop if someone has to step back to 2020 ram tech on a random outlet model with no model # even stating what the heck it is. And it is probably an old business class machine which...I kinda called as being the only place you'd likely find an unsoldered laptop ram in the wild
Not the slam dunk you thought it would be, eh?
Feel free to have the last word, clearly you need it.

From the title of link:
"HP - 15.6" Full HD Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i5 1334U 2023 - 16GB Memory - 512GB SSD - Natural Silver"
And ignore list? LOL...okay. Sorry to continue your topic of conversation and point out how un-iNfoRmaTiOnAl the complaint was? You only listen to people who blindly fanboi everything you say?
