Believe it or not, these were going for $1 is early December. Amazon must have a huge overstock on some items after bringing in stock early to beat the tariffs.

I bought I think the exact ones last year ish on deal. One was dead on arrival. The other died eventually. I don't even know how, i dont think there's any power breaker or anything in them. Won't buy again.

I also bought these for $1, bought 3 boxes, (6 cords total) So far, so good. I'm using 2 now, and left 2 at my son's house where we stay when we visit CA.

I don't know how your electrical is, but if the same outlets in your house get fried , no matter the device, you'll need to get a whole house surge protector. Took me a few years and losing 2 routers, 1 modem to figure out surge came from BOTH electric company and cable internet. That was with surge protection at the device....
