My main complaint about these is that they don't have an aux input.

These are overpriced for what you get. The bass is lacking and you need a subwoofer. At this price point you might as well invest in a dedicated system or a high-end sound bar.

Looks like these speakers need to be tethered to each other via an interspeaker cable. So at most, these speakers can only be placed 5 ft apart unless you want the interspeaker cable hanging in the air. This is a deal breaker as I like to place my speakers further than 5ft apart.

Sounds good, looks nice, but some features are behind and the software suck.

Sorry but forget about KEF with powered speakers. I had their $2k original wireless versions. The amps where known to go and KEF had ZERO SUPPORT in the US to have them repaired after just 5 years.

Agree.. these are WAY overrated. Got them 4 years ago and was very underwhelmed for the price. They since go on sale more aggressively, and for $500 I could recommend. However, not more , over 1k, never!

While I don't recommend these, I dealt with KEF twice for warranty and always had excellent experience fwiw...

Okay genuine question here, I'm not an audiophile by any means and no hate towards KEF, but I listened to the demo at Costco and couldn't understand why these are so much more than other speakers. Are these mainly mid-range speakers that are meant to be paired with a subwoofer and tweeters, or are they standalone? Maybe they didn't sound very good because they were in a noisy Costco?

I've got a set of Q300s and a Q400b Subwoofer hanging off a Marantz PM8004 amp and they are AWESOME. I understand these use the same excellent driver tech, but how do these near-field jobbies hold up in smaller spaces?
