I started playing from beta to unlimited then to 3rd edition and stop when I got to college. Still have those cards in sleeves somewhere in my parents house. And they were $1.25 a pack, now over $4. Ouch. How do they expect a kid to pay for that!
I stopped playing in 2000, but if I still played, I'd absolutely be buying up these collabs. God of War, Last of Us, Fallout, Jurassic Park, Marvel, The Walking Dead.... I'd be broke as hell.

I used to be into MTG when i was a kid... is this all they make now? Like licensed IP instead of their own artwork? I just saw a deal for Final Fantasy VII MTG cards the other day and thought it was odd.

You can tell how many people here actually know it's Lorwyn Eclipsed release weekend.

Anyways, don't buy Magic from Amazon, support your local game store (assuming it doesn't have a shitty owner).

It's the same with Legos. When I was a kid, you had to imagine items to create with the basic blocks. Now, they show you whatever licensed thing you're supposed to put together. You have to pay 35 times as much, and then you get to use Cragle to hold it all together. I'll admit that the Dr. Who and Ad&D ones grabbed my interest.

Anyone into magic know if these are likely to dip more? I'm a big turtles fan but not into magic. I remember hearing spider man flopped and boxes were cheap but idk what cheap is relative to other sets.

No one knows. It depends on the print run, but after the embarrassing Spiderman collapse, I wouldn't be surprised if the made the print run extremely tight.
