Firewood guy here. Completely covering your firewood is a terrible idea. Especially if the wood isn't fully "seasoned" yet (moisture levels below 17%). Air needs to flow through the stack in order to help dry it out. All these complete covers do is trap moisture, grow mold, and attract bugs to live in this moist, dark environment.
Best thing to do is simply keep the top of the stack covered to prevent rain from hitting it. An even better thing to do is stack the logs nearly and up off the ground.

Using these will also increase the likelihood of mice, rats, etc nesting as you're helping to create a dark weather proof home for them.

Seems like you'd be better off with tarp and a rope, no?

This is useless and will trap moisture.

You want your wood to have plenty of airflow to dry properly. If anything, all you need is something (like a roof, or take a tarp to hang it above your wood pile, angled so rain flows away) to keep the rain from soaking the top of the wood.

Serious question since you're a firewood expert. Any good suggestions for keeping firewood dry while raining/snowing without a full cover like this? Trying to figure out how to keep my make shift firewood rack (cinder blocks/2x4s) dry during inclement weather without using a full cover.

I placed the black contractor trash bags on top and used rocks to keep wind from blowing it off. Yeah, ghetto looking. It works ok except for the mice took advantage of the dry shelter and hide there. But weirdly, they starting chewing on it.
