These saws aren't bad for what they are, especially at this price. Replace the Chinese Torch spark plug with a NGK and the starting reliability significantly increases.

Can't speak to this specfic model but Poulan makes some really good saws.
First one I used years ago had an amazing antivibration system that kept the saw from numbing your hands and allowed you to saw all day. Also it used hand graspable knobs rather than normal nuts so you could do any field service with no tools.

This a great deal on a medium duty chainsaw for a home owner with lots of trees near their house that may need to use it a couple times a year. Pros use and maintain much more expensive saws that thier livelyhood requires, like the Husqvarna 450 Rancher and STIHL MS 271 which have near identical specs to this Poulan, but costs $500.

Good [price, if you can keep it running. Bought a used one, like new, for $30 because the seller could not keep it running. I tuned it, spark plug, increased gap... and it runs - just ok. My echo screams and is 6 years old and heavily used.
