I always use online TurboTax offering that costs like $100+. Is this really going to save me all that money?
I have a friend who does the same. He always uses the online version and says he always pays more than $100. I have no idea why. I have never used an online version. I always buy these and keep my data local.

The desktop s/w has now become smart(er). It can even take your last year's return in PDF and import quite a bit of data. I would switch to this and never look back if I were you.

I bought the Deluxe a few weeks ago for $21.99, sigh. But the kicker is my old laptop totally died (finally), and the new one is somehow screwed up and I cannot install anything. Something wrong or missing with Windows 11. Been working on it with no luck. Two options at this point - wipe it and re-install Windows, and if that doesn't work, buy another laptop. This year is not going well...
Windows 11 is a hot mess, it might be "S" mode messing you up. I recently bought a new laptop that came with 11, wiped it and installed windows 10 clean using MasGrave to enable 3 years ESU updates.

Is it easy to switch from TaxAct to this and is it as good and as easy? I have used TA for over a decade and they keep getting pricier.

Booo. :-) Just bought the Deluxe+State+NordVPN bundle on Jan 20th at New Egg for $24.99 (before tax). LOL Oh well. This appears to be the cheapest (at NewEgg) so far this year. Past sale prices seem to hold at $24.99 with or without bundled additional software.
$2 difference to get the antivirus software means you came out way ahead, especially if you can use the latter.

I think $22.99 is less than last year!
Nope. Paid $22.49 for H&R Block Deluxe + State 2024 on 1/12/2025.
In the six years prior to 2025 the Deluxe + State price varied from $17.48 to $19.97 to $19.99 (several years) to $21.49.

While my post was tongue and cheek. Yes one typically comes out ahead if they use the bundled software. Generally one paid LESS than this H&R Block Deluxe + State $22.99 price when one looked at the H&R Block Deluxe + State software bundle order invoice. For example last week's NordVPN bundle deal; the discount price for H&R Block Deluxe + State was $17.00 and NordVPN Basic was $7.99 to reach the total combined bundle price of $24.99.

Yes. HRB Deluxe is a great piece of software. I've been using it for years and it can handle almost any scenario.

This is typically as low as it gets, so might as well pull the trigger and turn off that deal alert.

This worked.
A Note: get the key card version and not the download. They have different capabilities

I just downloaded TurboTax Deluxe desktop today off a SD deal for $45+$10 GC from Amazon last week, and it offered me the online premier version for free if I wanted to switch to that. I didn't, but if that's specifically what you want, you may want to give that a shot.

All are the same. Go with a free or cheapest. They are just convenient alternatives to tax filling form papers.

Can you elaborate? I've been doing the download for years and have not noticed any missing features.
