On paper this is pretty good. IPS display, but it doesn't have 2.1 hdmi. So you won't be getting the full speed via hdmi. If that's important msi has the 346CQRF but it's a little smaller. It's a VA screen but it's a lot faster and hdmi 2.1 with all the same benefits for about 100 bucks more. Deeper blacks but less viewing angles.. Both have their pro and cons. Honestly I'm debating on the two myself.

It's not 4k, so the hdmi speeds don't really matter I guess.

I put this monitor into my racing sim - wanted a bigger flat screen vs. curved and it works great - no ghosting, colors look really good - really enjoying it. Not sure how it'd be on a desk unless it's a bit farther away than say a 32", but it's a really great screen!

This resolution is too low for a 40" screen.

I have two of these. One for home and one for the office.
I can tell you that for the price, it is unbeatable value.
For gaming, its not 4K, so you don't need a 5000$ GPU just to run it, and you don't have to constantly squint just cause you want to run it at native resolution. 155hz is more than enough for any not too serious competitive gaming. Can't say much for pixel response time, blur, shadow bloom yata yata cause I don't play CS GO, but aram mayham is hella fun. The HDR sux though so if you want immersive cinematic gaming or true to life movie with blacks deeper than my neighbor next door, then look else well.
For productivity, it is amazing. Don't have to deal with line breaks cause some idiot doesn't doesn't know that 100 characters is longer than the attention span of the avg programmer, or their d-size, and it can display more excel columns than the hot blonde's window blinds in the tall glass building across the street.

I've been debating between an expensive, mini-led top of the line curved gaming monitor... but an ultra wide IPS for under 300 lets me replace my two 27in 1080p work monitors for this one. And since its Costco I can return it in store down the road vs shipping it back somewhere. I'll give it a shot!

Im really tired of my VA 43 Samsung neo odyssey with blooming and ghosting.

Will this give me more fps and solve my VA nightmares hmmmmmmmmm so tempting.

The world part of the VA panel is the constant black smearing from scrolling on browsers to walking in games. IM GOING CRAZYYYYYY

I AM SO TEMPTED TO GET THIS IPS MONITOR RAAAARRRR

EDIT

I did the math its 93 PPI.
1440p looks terrible on a 32" size and is 92 PPI.

Id say the only thing stopping me from buying it now is the PPI. I dont want to see the pixels. Anyone own it and notice the PPI?? I could see the pixels in a 1440p on 32. Im scared.

Edit2

IPS or VA have backlight bleed on large flat screens. Visible even on a 29" ultrawide monitor. I would also like to add another question if any owners notice backlight bleed on the left and right ends when they are sitting center??? Thanks

I literally just returned it. I was trying to replace the 49" OLED that I got from Sam's Club for 750, and figured this is almost a third of the price.

The biggest problem with it is that it isn't curved - so it almost appears like it's projecting out towards you, like an old CRT TV, and the center looks wider than the ends. It isn't actually that way, but sitting as close as you would to a monitor, and it being as wide as it is, is almost nauseating.

Very disappointing, but stuck with the Sam's Club 49". Wish it'd go on sale.

I got one this week. Slightly disappointed, at 3440x1340, things look a little pixelated; my MacBook screen is noticeably sharper. At 1720 x 720 everything looks super crisp, but that's a janky resolution for a monitor that's (guessing) 3' wide.
