I was questioning the quality of this Acer product and didn't like that the Costco model didn't have much info online about it.
I ordered an ASUS XG27AQDMG for about $520 and was hoping I'd like it more and I could return the Costco monitor.
I found the ASUS monitor to be no better than the Acer. I decided to return the ASUS and just be happy with the Acer as my first OLED.
I think this is a solid monitor and I will save some money for a better OLED in the future.
My two cents. Have a great day, nerds(I am one too)!
But I would buy the same panel from another manufacturer for one reason: the image retention pixel refresh reminder that pops up constantly and cannot be disabled. It will pop up in the middle of your screen while you are gaming. It's just a message "reminding" you to run a pixel refresh, and it's incredibly obnoxious. You can slightly alleviate the annoyance by making the menu system transparent and moving it to a bottom corner of the screen, but it's still an absolute deal-breaker for someone trying to be "competitive" in their games. An unskippable menu will literally pop up at random and cover part of your screen multiple times per day. You have to just let it sit there for a while until it disappears again, or physically press the buttons on your monitor in the middle of your game. But if you accidentally hit "yes" instead of "no" while fiddling with the goofy-ass button, then you just disabled your monitor for 6 minutes to run a pixel refresh. They say the message comes up every 4 hours, but in my experience there is no rhyme or reason to when or why it decides to pop up. It will pop up one hour into a gaming session, then pop up again 2 hours later.
The panel is outrageously good for the money, but this one utterly stupid design flaw kinda ruins the whole experience. You can find the same 1440p/240hz panel from several manufacturers, and since it's not the latest gen of OLED any more, they're all going for dirt cheap. The annoying pop-up menu is exclusive to this ACER model.
