Good deal based upon the original price. Is this a good pen though?

They are average pens. for this price point I would much rather have a Lamy or a Montverde.Keep in mind that most fountain pens use cartridges that are only compatible with that brand. If you're just starting out the brands I mentioned are a better choice because they offer more options and are much more affordable with the same level of quality

It's made from a new, plant-derived plastic. There's nothing inherently good or bad about that, but not knowing what the material will feel like (or how easily it scratches when I inevitably drop it) is making me hold off.

I already have two Lamy Safaris and a Pilot. I guess I'll skip this one.

Definitely a pass then since I already have a plastic Lamy.

It has a magnetic slip cap. Very likely that it'll dry out quickly (something many fountain pens are already prone to doing, though more slowly). This is the thing I dislike most about fountain pens. Some are fine, but many do stuff like this.

I've got one from this seller in previous deal. To answer specifics on this thread.

It's standard international converter/cartridge. Total non issue.

The magnetic cap seals surprisingly well. At least a few days (weekend). I like it for meetings with intermittent note taking.

Nib is steel, nothing special but it wrote great without adjustment out of the box.

The plastic is similar in feel to lamy2k but slightly smoother. There is brass threads insert so it should be pretty durable. The section is metal, which front weights the pen slightly and I really like. If you post the cap it's almost perfectly balanced so you can choose what you want.

The cap magnet is plenty strong but you aren't going to hang this by the cap. I don't do that even with screw caps so that's a non issue for me.

At this deal price imo it's WAY better than a safari or monteverde at list price.
