These are typically used with Lithium batteries which means they'll last for a long time and they'll be less susceptible to cold temperatures. You hide it in your car so that a thief can't find it. Also, you can mod your AirTag so that it no longer beeps which means if someone tries to find it after receiving notification that "an AirTag is following you" they won't be able to find it using their phone. You can find instructions on how to do this on YouTube. I did in on the one for my car and two for my parents' cars, and it was stupidly easy to do.

Weld a small box to the frame of your expensive car, this inside, cheap 10 year lojack. Same concept with anything you want to know where it is for the next 10 years and never worry about battery, etc.

Good idea. You might want to mod the AirTag so it doesn't make noise if someone steals it and tries to find it using their phone. You basically open the Airtag, put out the board and pry off the speaker.

What's the use case for something like this?

My AirTag batteries last at least a year as is with daily use.
