This thing is terrible and would only be a good deal if it came with a battery. DeWalt has a newer handheld vacuum that should be able to be found for about the same price- DCV501HB

While agree that the price doesn't seem attractive here, I've had a different experience. I love this vac and have been very happy with it. I find I am using it more than my other portable vacs. Would like to try the DCV501HB.

Agree. I own both. And 501HB is much better

I have this and think it's a good solid one to use for small cleanups around the house and for DIY projects. Relatively compact and I like that the flexible tube pulls out easily.

not worth it unless it has a battery

Should be noted, the 501HB is a dry vac only whereas the one in the post above is wet/dry.

This thing gets a lot of hate, but I really like mine. Used it with a 5ah battery to slurp the water out of a broken dishwasher and worked pretty well. Also, 3D printed some adapters for it to make more useful

I'm assuming there's some component of the wet/dry that reduces performance for dry use—is there anything else about it that makes it worse or was it power/performance? I'm looking for wet/dry so a dry-only vac is useless for me. Do you recall the battery you used with this one vs the 501HB? It wouldn't surprise me too much to learn a wet/dry vac requires a bigger battery (i.e., more power) in order to achieve equivalent performance.
