I have been testing a 1000 capacity battery. Basically a 1kw. I can run my whole work from home set laptop, two large monitors (32" and 27"), podcast style mic, dell docking station, cable modem and 2.4ghz router for about 8 hours.

The first step is determining what you want to power and for how long. Then consider if you want to add solar, how much, and where you will put those panels. Next decide where will you put your power station how you will connect things when you need it. Finally look at the power stations that will meet those needs and see what features are important to you. I wanted an EcoFlow because it lets you set a charge range and when to start AC pass through to maximize solar...not all power stations do. If you are strictly just using it as a big UPS for your generator, then maybe you just need to focus on max input/output.

The C800X at $350 would be the one to go for. Else at $400 probably wait for the C1000 Gen 2 to hit it.

Do you mean 1kwhr? For 1kwhr battery to power for 8 hours that's a 1000/8 or 125 watt average load. That'd be assuming 100% inverter efficiency, which doesn't exist. all the stuff you listed combined consuming less than 125watt average seems unlikely. But maybe?

I'm at the stage where I know I need one of these but have no idea which one I should buy. I have a little 3200w generator for emergencies and people tell me it's best to pair them with a system like this for ease of use.
Anyone have any guides they recommend for me to get a grasp on this situation?

Also u want to know %THD of your gas generators. If it is inverter generator you are fine. Need less than 5% THD otherwise most power stations WILL NOT charge from gas generators.
