The C800X is a compact portable power station best suited to light outage backup, camping, and smaller home setups. It can keep a single fridge going in an outage, and a roughly 1 kilowatt hour battery has been tested running a work from home setup with monitors, modem, router, and docking station for about 8 hours. The 100 watt solar panel is mainly a nice extra for recreational use, while outages are more likely to rely on generator or car charging. It is not intended for whole home backup, and its 20 millisecond transfer delay makes it a weak choice for a computer UPS.

The first step is determining what you want to power and for how long. Then consider if you want to add solar, how much, and where you will put those panels. Next decide where will you put your power station how you will connect things when you need it. Finally look at the power stations that will meet those needs and see what features are important to you. I wanted an EcoFlow because it lets you set a charge range and when to start AC pass through to maximize solar...not all power stations do. If you are strictly just using it as a big UPS for your generator, then maybe you just need to focus on max input/output.
Is there any site that lets me input the features I need and recommends a system? For example I need a system that can power tools that I use as a handyman while I am at a client site such as a table saw and a tower light. Also to charge my power tool batteries while I am on the go. The occasional use as a power supply when camping would be great.

I agree trying to narrow down and choose a portable power station is so overwhelming. I don't have an exact use case for it which makes it kind of hard. I rent an apartment and we just want something for when/if the power goes out. Would be nice to at least power a regular fridge if needed and then charge random stuff as well.

I'm at the stage where I know I need one of these but have no idea which one I should buy. I have a little 3200w generator for emergencies and people tell me it's best to pair them with a system like this for ease of use. Anyone have any guides they recommend for me to get a grasp on this situation?
If you have, for example, a fridge and outside freezer you want to keep cold in outages i'd recommend the Solix C2000 Gen 2 and pair that with your generator to charge the battery bank when it's low. If you only have one fridge you want to keep cold in outages this c800x might do the trick. If you're wanting to run the internet and TVs and stuff during an outage I'd recommend a larger model like the f3800. Your generator is the right size to charge a power bank. The 100w solar panel is just a nice to have if you're out doing something recreational like tailgating. In a power outage you'll be charging this off the generator or cig adapter in your car.
