A 1500w space heater puts out ~1500btu of heat regardless of method or size of the heater. These Dr infrared heaters put out steady and relatively safe heat. I have one for an area my kids play. But don't be convinced they heat "better" than other types or somehow take moisture out of the air while others don't.
