I see $4 coupon lowering price to $24. I checked other major sites where it is selling for $40-$80. I have cheaper version pots of this brand. They are holding up ok......for $24 for this -- it is decent buy -- but expect some wear over time.....

Glass lid = trash.

It's just one accidental bump or thermal expansion away from shattering -- either in your cupboard or on your stove.
I've had cheaper version pots of this brand. They all have glass lids and never had a problem with shattering .....These lids have small vent holes (some times I put foil in them if I don't want steam to escape). Amazon shows this pot as 4.8 lbs -- probably weighed with box, so this pot probably weighs 3.5 lbs which is a decent weight......

Anyone know if this is wide enough at or near the base to fit long pasta like spaghetti?

Width is 10.5" measured from outside, inside width should be slightly under 10".

People never have a problem until they do.

Metal lids don't shatter. Well, I suppose they could, but you're asking for it with that much liquid nitrogen.

Sounds like a skill issue
