My own opinion - worst cover, worst album, still a great album. There's a reason it's mostly covers - the fall was coming. Maybe the only reason we got 1984 was Eddie did almost all of it at home in his new studio.
But thumbs up for anything VH!

Secrets was the only original song that was interesting on this album, in my opinion.
While not their best album, calling DD the worst of the DLR era, is a mis-characterization. It was still a GREAT album, and stands the test of time. Also, to be clear, 7 of the 11 songs (Happy trails was a 1 minute throw away tossed on at the end as a joke) were originals. And the Pretty Woman cover that DLR insisted on including, turned out to be one of their biggest hits. All things considered, one of the greatest bands of all time, and EVH was IMO, the best LIVE rock guitar player EVER. His technical ability in live performance was unmatched in the rock world. Lots of players are great in the studio where they can do umpteen takes until they get it right, or manipulate a lead with an edit (Jimmy Page), but then you hear them live, and they're all over the place with mistakes and can't reproduce what they did in the studio (yep, Page again).

My second least favorite VH album (III was god-awful). Still some really really good music, though. Thumbs up because EVERYTHING the King EVH was on (except for VHIII lol) was amazing.
never heard their music, any good? my grandfather used to talk about them
Wow that just made me feel so not young
I saw VH a few x's but with Sammy. They had just split when I started going to concerts. I finally did get to see David when they did a show at Gexa pavilion in Dallas. Even though magentadesk1020 made me feel like I should be making final arrangements it was still great.

Not saying you've never listened to them, but it seems almost impossible that someone would never have heard Jump, Right Now, or even Panama on a commercial, in a store, or at a sporting event.
